Terms and conditions

Last updated September 29, 2026

These terms govern use of Filed Books websites and our monthly bookkeeping service. By signing up for a plan or paying a fee, you agree to them. Filed Books is powered by TaxFlow Labs, which performs the bookkeeping. In these terms, “we” and “us” include TaxFlow Labs.

What we do

Each month we categorize your business transactions, reconcile your connected bank and credit card accounts, match payouts from sales platforms to deposits, and deliver a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, normally by the 15th of the following month. Business plans include a year-end package for your tax preparer; the Freelancer plan includes a year-end Schedule C summary and quarterly check-ins. The work is done remotely in your accounting software.

What we do not do

Your responsibilities

You must give us complete and accurate information, timely access to your accounts and records, and answers to our questions about transactions. Our work relies on what you provide. You remain responsible for your business’s financial decisions and for the returns and filings made from your books.

Plans, fees, and billing

Business plans are priced by your business’s typical monthly expenses, from $399 to $1,199 a month for up to $200,000 in monthly expenses. The Freelancer plan is $99 a month for one person with one bank account and one revenue stream. Plans above $200,000 in monthly expenses are quoted individually.

When you sign up, you pay the first month and authorize us to keep your card on file and charge the same monthly amount on the same day each following month until you cancel. Online payments are processed and cards are stored by our third-party payment processor; we never see or store your full card number. If your actual monthly expenses place you in a different band for more than a month or two, we will tell you in writing before your plan price changes. If a monthly charge fails, we may pause work until payment is made.

Cleanup work

If your books are behind, we review them and send a flat quote for the catch-up work. No cleanup work starts, and nothing is charged for it, until you approve the quote in writing.

Cancellation and refunds

There is no annual contract. You may cancel at any time through our contact form; cancelling before your next billing date stops the next charge. If you cancel before your onboarding call, we refund your first month. After onboarding, a month that has started is earned and is not refunded unless required by law. When you leave, your accounting file and reports remain yours.

Privacy

Personal and business information is handled as described in our privacy policy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for the website and the bookkeeping service is limited to the fees you paid us for the three months before the claim arose.
